British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has upheld the safety of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, after several European countries stopped its rollout over reports of blood clot in some people who have received the vaccine dose.
Germany, Italy and France joined other countries on Monday in discontinuing the use of the vaccine. The World Health Organization, AstraZeneca, and the European Medicines Agency have all stated that the shot is safe, and there appears to be no link between the vaccine and reported blood clots.
Johnson wrote in The Times newspaper that the vaccine is safe and works well, adding that it is being made in several places, including India, US and Britain, and is being used around the world… (NDTV -Agence France-Presse, March 16, 2021)
